Appointments

Contact us with eConsult

You can contact a doctor, nurse or other healthcare professional online using a website called eConsult.

Patients may book to see any doctor at the practice; however, if possible, we encourage patients to try to see the same doctor for continuity of care. When making your appointment, please specify your preferred doctor and we will try to accommodate your request.

Urgent appointments

If you need an urgent same day we can arrange for our duty doctor to call you to discuss your concerns. The duty doctor will then arrange an appropriate appointment for you.

Routine appointments

To request a routine appointment in advance during opening times:

Telephone advice

Sometimes you may wish to have a brief advice on your health problem or on medications. Please ask the receptionist for a telephone consultation appointment. It is helpful to let the receptionist know what is your concern (if appropriate) so that we have the necessary records available.

This will save you time, and avoid booking a face to face appointment with the GP.

The doctors are happy to speak to you providing they are not in a consultation with another patient.

The best time to ring for non-urgent advice or information is between 9:30am to 10:30am, however the lines are open from 8am to 6:30pm, Monday to Friday when an emergency doctor is always available for urgent matters.

You should be prepared to call back if necessary or to expect a call back in some instances. You will be advised of a time frame when this is the case.

Your appointment

However you choose to contact us, we may offer you a consultation:

  • by phone
  • face to face at the surgery
  • on a video call
  • by text or email

Appointments by phone, video call or by text or email can be more flexible and often means you get help sooner.

Cancelling or changing an appointment

If you no longer need your appointment please cancel it so it can be made available to other patients in need. On average 15 appointments per week are wasted because of non-attendance.

To cancel your appointment:

If you need help when we are closed

If you need medical help now, use NHS 111 online or call 111.

NHS 111 online is for people aged 5 and over. Call 111 if you need help for a child under 5.

Call 999 in a medical or mental health emergency. This is when someone is seriously ill or injured and their life is at risk.

If you need help with your appointment

Please tell us:

  • if there’s a specific doctor, nurse or other health professional you would prefer to respond
  • if you would prefer to consult with the doctor or nurse by phone, face-to-face, by video call or by text or email
  • if you need an interpreter
  • if you have any other access or communication needs

Home visits

Only if you are too seriously ill to get to the surgery, terminally ill or are housebound, and need a home visit, please phone 020 8640 4445. The doctor may phone first to decide if a visit is necessary or if any other action(s) needs to be taken.

On a home visit, the doctor will have limited equipment available in comparison to seeing you at the surgery, so it may not be possible to perform a full assessment of your symptoms. It is therefore essential that if it is at all possible that you attend the surgery to see the doctor.

You can call to request a home visit during our opening hours although it is best to call as early in the day as possible; doing this when you are unwell will facilitate faster treatment and may prevent you being admitted to hospital. The GPs have access to a community prevention of admissions team for suitable patients.
